Magic? There aren’t any

Who wouldn’t want to speed things up? It’s only natural for a wounded to heal faster, isn’t it?

If there was any Harry Potter type of magic available to cure instantly wouldn’t that be tempting? Say an incantation aloud and hey presto things have mended for themselves. But if there was such thing like that, would our world be better off than now?

I don’t think so. If you ask me I would retort,” I find this cure-in-an-jiffy, heal-it-up-instantly thing far too unconvincing. This is the stuff that only the gullible would fall for. Wise men (ahem, like myself!) tend to take their time to things to heal (if they are broken and mend (if things are in bad shape).”

But why? It’s simply because it just isn’t natural to have the circle complete so fast. The circle is that of being wounded and recovering it. It is also of being broken and mending it and so thus and so forth. There exists a certain time frame in between the former and the latter process. That time frame is the circle I am talking about.

For example, in the case of a disease, it takes its time to appear and so it shall take its time to heal up. Without the period of recuperation, it seems, the whole process losses its charm. It is in this period the beauty and the complexity of the issue at hand is fully understood.

With understanding dawns the appreciation of the whole and healthy state. Then people will be on their guard to prevent such situation. It is always better to be prepared than act on impulse upon facing the threat.
It’s sometimes good to be on your tiptoes for a while. It’s good for a change.
Take Bagmati for a change, it has been polluted for decades. Now, unable to bear up with their own do-do, people wish and pray for its rapid return to its former self. How bizarre, such fanciful thinking that.

If such thing were to happen, would then the people appreciate the work that will to towards to renew it? Will people appreciate the values that the river stands for?
No, never. They will not. There’s a good phrase to denote what will happen if there was such thing like that.
